Hobby breeders of Bengal and Savannah cats. Combining top bloodlines from around the world and breeds of leopard cats, Servals and other Exotics.

Welcome to the new PoesPoes Cattery Web pages

We are T.I.C.A registered breeders of Bengal and Savannah Cats based Ramsgate Kent. We breed mainly from imported lines to bring together some of the best and most sought after bloodlines of both breeds. We will be showing in T.I.C.A from this year onwards and have some fantastic cats to help start our new breeding program. We are Lucky enough to have our own Asian leopard cats and Servals and we hope these will eventually offer some new genetics to the breeds. We only breed from a very limited number of top quality cats to ensure we offer each litter our full attention. We offer our kittens to loving pet show and breeding homes both in the U.K and around the world. Our new website is still under construction and will be updated regularly and our thansk goes to Tracy of blissnmore bengals for some of the art work and our header.

Our Asian leopard cat Harry is a wonderfully rosetted boy who we hope in 2010 will bless us with some F1 females to continue his blood line with. He will be mated to some outstanding queens which all have equally impressive pedigrees and we hope by combining the best SBTs to this wonderful boys genetics the results will speak for themselves. Harry has already matted domestics so we eager await to see what this boy produces this year. Harry was hand reared by ourselves and is a pleasure to be with.

We are also hoping to be breeding foundation Savannahs in 2010. Breeding any hybrid is not an easy process but with such wonderful foundation studs we have high hopes. Our boys can be found on the studs page.

Our Savannah program is very much taking off this year with the imminent arrival of our three F2 females. All are half sisters and two are full sisters. The two full sisters are both equally stunning with extremely golden back grounds and dense individual black spotting. The golden colour of our savannahs is something we wanted to work with, and try and maintain down the generations. Other factors we will be trying to work with will be the Serval like black noses, cheetah tear lines and size. Our F2 girls are unrelated to the various A1 savannah lines present in most of the savannahs in the UK so we are interested to see what happens when the lines mix in our breeding program. We are also adding a new later generation female Savannah to our program who also boasts individual spotting but also has the golden colour we are hoping to work with. We are also brining in a male who is actually from our new females full sister (from a previous litter). We have found golden Savannahs are not as common as people expect and want to limit the out crosses in our breeding program in a hopes of adding consistency to our developing breeding line. In time we will solely be breeding to a maximum of F5.

Maturer pictures of these girls can be found on our queens page. We are exciting to be working with some fantastically golden spotted savannah girls in our savannah breeding program and all of our F2 Savannah queens offer brand new genetics to the UK Savannah population. We hope by setting our standards so high at the F2 generation that our savannahs will be consistently larger, more golden and Serval like throughout the generations as we breed down. We look forward to seeing what these fantastic girls produce later in 2010 and 2011. We will be breeding our girls to some very exciting silver and golden black spotted boys and look forward to adding Serval mlike traits in our breeding program like black noses, maintaining cheetah tears and ocolli. We hope to later bond F2 and F3 Savannah kittens with our Servals and breed first generation (F1) Savannahs, however this is extreamly difficult but with excellent quality F2 and F3 girls such as those here at PoesPoes and with a selection of Servals to choose from we are heading in the right direction. We have a stunning daughter of A1 Savannahs Illusion (owned by jacky and Tim Bliss pictured in the top right of our banner above one of our male Servals jim)joining us here at poespoes. she will maintain the golden colour we are striving to maintain and look forward to her producing some potential studs that hold the qualities we are looking for.

Bengals are accepted in brown, snow, silver and blue (spotted / rosetted and marble). Savannahs are accpeted only in brown spotted tabby, black and silver spotted tabby. To progress the breed we feel it is very important to only breed accepted patterns and colours. We have found the Savannah to breed quiet inconsistantly, however breeding from non accepted patterns such as marble and colours such as torbies (brown spotted tabbies with ginger flashes) we persoinally feel delay the progression of the breed. Others may deem it acceptable but from what we have found the red gene within any cat demonstarates itself strongly and is not accepted within the Savannah breed standard as set by TICA. We will be finishing the website over the next few weeks. We will be adding pictures of our cats within our home and snap shots of funny cat moments within the day to day running of our family home. We are vet inspected a minimum of yearly by a DEFRA aproved vet to issue our permits for first generation cats and our wild cats. We do not cage our females as they live happily as part of our family. Our boys unfortunatly have to live outdoors when they mature as they may spray. They have large spacious hyginic housing with heating and lighting. Our wild cats live in similar standard enclosures and are vet inspected for their suitability. In early 2010 we constructed a safe area where our females and kittens could go out to play and enjoy the fresh air and sun bathe. Pictured right its planted with non toxic plants. this massive enclosed cat garden runs almost the depth of our garden and offers the cats so much to keep them busy. we are still in the process of finishing it and adding bits and bobs to enhance our cats lives. When people come to visit we show all our cats and how they live. Although we may deliver kittens if new homes are not able to collect we always prefer that all potential new owners come and visit us at home to see how and where their kitten has been born and raised.

Our enclosed cat garden where mums and babiues can enjoy the outside world safely. Planted with non toxic cat friendly plants the babies love to rush around and talk to the birds. its total size comprizes of three seperate areas. A 8 feet by 15 feet. 5 feet by 13 feet and a 15 feet by 8 feet. Quiet a size for the cats to enjoy! The all come indoors to sleep of a night and only go out when the sun is shining.

When coming to choose or visit your kitten before he or she is ready to come home we ask that you do not see other kittens at other peoples homes prior to coming to us as we take the risk of inection to our cats very seriously.

We are small hobby breeders with a professional attitude to ensure the welfare of our cats. we test our studs and queens anually for Felv and Fiv and to date have never had a possotive result in our cattery. when going to look at a kitten we offer people to see the parents vaccination records, and test results of each cat. Our vet will be visiting monthly throughout 2010 to see the babies, give vaccinations to those due or just starting out and also taking blood tests to test for Felv and Fiv. We worm our cats and kittens regularly and when you collect your kitten from PoesPoes we will offer to worm and treat your new family addition against fleas, ticks and mites. While you are with us on the day of collection so you can be assured that your kitten is covered. Our kittens are extensivly socialised with other pets including dogs and are used to interacting and playing with children of all ages.Later this year we will also be going on the microchipping course to be able to micro chip all of our kittens. At present we are able to have your kitten vaccinated before they come home at a minimal cost by our vet when they have their second vaccination. Our kittens leave with 4 weeks free insurance and we strongly recomend you continue this.
